Flyline for Steelhead
I have been flyfishing a long time, but never for Steelhead in the Lake Ontario or Lake Erie tribs. With fast running water I am told that I need to get deep fast. My question: I don’t like to through split shot on a floating line, so is a sink tip line the answer, or do fast sinking leaders (5 Ft) do the same thing? I am also familiar with T14 fast sinking line (any length), will this accomplish the same thing as a sink tip line with a short leader. What is a good leader/tippet combination? I would appreciate any help.
Best,
JB
