I love this time of year when we get what I call the Blue Bird Sky, light wind and a high outgoing tide in the middle of the day. We hit the water yesterday around 1 pm and caught the tide on the high outgoing on a bank I call the Bahama Flats because of all the light colored oyster shell and clear water you can spot the Redfish far enough from the boat to cast to and not spook with the boat. Bottom line, in about 45 minutes we boated 6 nice Redfish from 23" to 29". We anchored the boat in the middle of a small creek that dumps out over the oyster shell bank. The fish were schooling on both sides of the outflow of the creek in slower water. We cast Gulp swimming minnows parallel to the outflow of the water and let the current take the baits out with the tide. With the clear water and bright sunshine, you could see the fish move out of the slow water and take the Gulps. That is what I call a picture perfect sight. Interesting note, on low water we found lots of schooling fish again but could not get them to eat. That is your tip for the day.:D
